Zelphia Howard

Mrs. Zelphia Harris Howard, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Well's Hospice Center in Hazard, KY. She was 89 years old. Zelphia was born in Putney, (Harlan Co.) KY., the daughter of the late, Tom Harris & Addie Begley Harris. She had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a loving, wife, mother & grandmother. She was a devoted member of the Community United Wooton Presbyterian EPC Church at Wooton, KY. Zelphia enjoyed playing the piano & spending time with her family.

Zelphia was preceded in death by her parents, one beloved son, Jeffery Howard, son-in-law, Jim Roland, brothers, Will Lewis, Lige Lewis, Cecil Lewis, Denver Lewis, Edgar Harris, Tommy Harris & Depton Harris & sisters, Rachel Lewis Brown & Anita Lewis Walls. She leaves the following relatives surviving; loving & devoted husband, Mr. Edward Howard, Hyden, KY. whom she married in April 1948, one beloved daughter, Carolyn Howard Roland, Williamsburg, KY., two beloved sons, Eddie Howard & wife, Gini, Nancy, KY. & Lonnie Dean Howard & wife, Patty, Hot Springs, VA., 3  treasured grandchildren, Gretchen Tracy & Spencer, Meghan Amerson & Edward & Bret Howard & Sarah & 9 treasured great grandchildren, Sydney Tracy, Reagan Taylor, Amelia Amerson, Henry Amerson, Eliza Amerson, Isaac Amerson, Alex Amerson, Brenly Howard & Maverick Howard, best friends, Randy & Teresa Dixon. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Greg Whitaker & Merle Caudill

Interment: Hurricane Cemetery, Hyden, KY.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 22nd at 11:30 until time of funeral service at the Funeral Home Chapel
