Winnie Louise Asher, a dedicated worker and beloved member of her community, passed away on February 6, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on those who knew her. She was born on February 10, 1949, in Hyden, KY to her parents Hiram and Ollie Asher.
Winnie's professional journey was marked by her strong work ethic and passion for cooking. She worked as a cook at various establishments including the Country Kitchen, Wendy's, and Robinson's Grocery. Her culinary skills were admired by both co-workers and customers alike, earning her respect in the workplace. Additionally, she ventured into housekeeping as a self-employed individual and provided exceptional service to her clients.
In addition to her dedication to work, Winnie possessed an unwavering drive and motivation that guided her throughout life. Her determination allowed her to overcome challenges and achieve personal growth. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Outside of work, Winnie found joy in exploring yard sales and antiquing. These activities reflected her appreciation for the beauty of the past and the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. She approached each sale with enthusiasm and always managed to find unique items that brought delight into her life.
Winnie Louise Asher's commitment to her family was remarkable. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly supported those she cared about. She is survived by her loving,son Charles Chappell of London, KY., along with beloved brothers; James Asher of London, KY., Kenneth Wayne Asher & wife, Mildred of London, KY, Marvin Asher & wife, Vicky of Manchester, KY., Jeffery Asher of Annville, KY., beloved sister, Sandy Abner & Ronnie of Tyner, Ky as well as treasured grandsons Shannon & Jacob and treasured, granddaughter Shania. Winnie Louise also leaves surviving a host of loved nieces and nephews. The lives of all her family have been enriched by Winnie's love and guidance. Winnie Louise was preceded in death by her loving and devoted parents, Hiram & Ollie Asher, cherished son, James Steven Morris, sisters, Wilma Jean Morris, Betty Asher & brother, Marshall Asher.
The funeral service honoring Winnie will be held at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home located at 155 Hickory Street in Hyden, KY at 1:00 pm. - Friday - February 9, 2024 with Jerry Maggard officiating, The interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Manchester, KY. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Family, friends, and community members will gather to pay their respects to a remarkable woman who touched countless lives.
Winnie Louise Asher will be remembered for her unwavering work ethic, her love for her family, and her passion for cooking. Her impact on the lives of those around her will never be forgotten.
