William Henry "Wig" Lewis

William Henry "Wig" Lewis passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. He was 68 years old. William was born August 25, 1954 in Hazard, KY, the son of the late, James H. "Jimmie" Lewis and the late, Minnie Joseph Lewis. William was a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a coal miner. He enjoyed hunting for dry land fish, going to the lake, fishing, riding his 4wheeler and spending time with his cherished daughter, Callie.

William was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Cowley Allen, James Andy, John L. and Dwayne Lewis and one sister, Rita Lewis Wilcox. He leaves the following relatives surviving; one cherished daughter, Callie Lewis, three sisters, Marjorie (Ed) Napier, Rhoda (Jeffrey) Kilburn and Mary (Carl) Farler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that included special cousin & friend, Johnny Lewis.

Funeral: Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Minister: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis

Interment: Lewis Family Cemetery, (Levi Branch) Smilax, KY.

Pallbearers: Tom Kilburn, Chuck Wilcox, Greg Sizemore and Eugene Wooton 

Honorary Pallbearers: Johnny Lewis & Tim Kilburn

Visitation: Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel
