Mr. William Preston Baker, Jr. born May 29, 1930 departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 at his residence. He was 90 years old. William was born in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of the late William Baker, Sr. and Mossie Miniard Baker. William attended Eastern Kentucky University and was a retired school teacher. He also owned and operated a general store. William was a Korean War Veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a devoted member of the Baker Fork Church of Christ for 58 years. He enjoyed gardening, A.T.V riding & going to flea markets. William's greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Alifair Pennington, Florence Pennington, Betty Jo Jones, Jewel Thompson & Arlee Myers. He leaves the following relatives surviving; his loving and devoted wife, Mary Miniard Baker, Yeaddiss, KY., one beloved son, Clayton Baker & Gail, Yeaddiss, KY., three beloved daughters, Sharon Gross & Denton, Yeaddiss, KY., Charlotte Spencer & Kenneth, London, KY., & Connie Stevens & Tim, London, KY., one brother, Elbert Baker, London, KY., four sisters, Wilma Parks, London, KY., Helen Loft, California, Dorothy North, Florida, Shirley Coots, Ohio, seven treasured grandchildren, Ronnie Preston Skeens & Harley, Mary Nicole Turner & John, Misty Louise Collett & Keith, Miranda Louise Roberts & Justin, Christopher Gross & Brittany, Whitney Stevens, Timothy Jordan Stevens, five treasured great grandchildren, a special grandson-in-law, Keith Collett, whose advice once saved William Preston's life & three cherished pet dogs, Sassy, Bam Bam & Cooper.
