Wanda Faye Maggard, passed away on October 12, 2026, in Yeaddiss, Kentucky. She was born on December 23, 1940 to the late Adam and Cody Howard Baker, in Leslie County. She was a devoted member of the Solid Rock Bible Church and her life was marked by devotion to others, quiet strength, and deep love for family.
Mrs. Maggard spent her adult life caring for several individuals both within her family and beyond it. That spirit of giving shaped the way she lived and the way she was known by those around her. She found joy in the simple and lasting blessings of life: cooking, gardening, going to church, traveling with her sisters, and spending time with her family. These were not merely pastimes to her, but expressions of the warmth, faith, and generosity that defined her days.
She is survived by her son; Bruce Allen Maggard (Jamie); sisters, Mildred Ritchie and Stephanie Adams; her grandchildren, Dustin, Derek, Kimberly, Darrin, and Emily; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and her special friend, Mae Parker. She also leaves behind the cherished memory of the bonds she shared with those closest to her, especially in the many moments of family togetherness and in the travels she enjoyed with her sisters. Her love and care will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Maggard; her parents, Adam Baker and Cody Howard Baker; her son, Bobby Dean Maggard; her sisters, Mallie, Virginia, and Marcella; and her brothers, Charles and McDonald. She now rests in the company of those who went before her, reunited in peace.
Wanda Faye Maggard will be remembered with love for her caring heart, her faithful presence, and the comfort she brought to family and friends throughout her life. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
The family of Wanda Faye Maggard would like to send a special thank you to Liz Campbell, Bluegrass Care Navigators, and Troy Adams for taking her to church and visiting her when she was in the hospital. The kindness, love, and compassion shown to Wanda will never be forgotten.
