Wanda Faye "Mommy"

Wanda Faye "Mommy' Joseph Baker passed away Friday, June 12,2026 at ARH Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky. She was 85 years, 8 months & 15 days old. Mommy was born September 28, 1940 to the late, Phillip & Sally Dixon Joseph. She was the 7th of their 8 children. She has been a life long resident of Leslie co. She was a loving wife, caring mother of 7 children, loving grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and homemaker. Two words that best described mommy was love and forgiveness. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In her later years of life, she was a resident of the Hyden Nursing Home, where she shared many laughs, her beautiful singing voice and love with all the staff, residents, and visitors. I know God placed her there for that very reason, to share God's love and to brighten everyone's days. She had many special caregivers, that she consider as her own children Lora, Tracy, Brittney, Karen & Tiffany. She loved them dearly. Our family is truly thankful for all the staff who has love and cared for her and we want to say ans extra special thank you for Lora Caldwell. Mommy loved her as her own daughter. Lora came to see her at the hospital to say she loved her, gave her a kiss on the forehead, which brough a beautiful smile on mommy's face. We are forever grateful!

Mommy is preceded in death by her parents, her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Baker, her son, Jerry Jr. Baker, her brothers, Raymond Joseph, Ernest Joseph & Bill Joseph, her sisters, Katherine Wooton, Edith Johnson and Bertha Joseph, her special son-in-law, Stoney Thomas, her special daughter-in-law, Michelle Baker, her special greatgrandchildren, Jason Baker & Jennifer Chappell, and her special great grandchildren Christopher Wade Allen, Jasmine Danielle Allen & Kristin Marie Allen and Kristin Marie Allen.
