Tonya Karen Sams

Tonya Karen Sams passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020. Karen was born December 21, 1965 in Hazard, KY., the daughter of Patricia Carol Young Hurt & the late, J.B. Whitaker. By occupation she was a nurse. Karen was of the Baptist Faith. Karen enjoyed helping with the Servants Closet, four wheeler riding, nature & spending time with her daughter & grandsons.

Karen was preceded in death by her father & father of her daughter Darrell Vires. She leaves the following relatives surviving; beloved mother, Patricia Carol Hurt, 1 beloved daughter, Amy Darnell Vires & fiance' Casey Bowling, Hazard, KY., 3 brothers, (a special brother), Jerry L. Woods, Hyden, KY., Kerman Wendell Whitaker & Gregory Brian Whitaker, Hazard, KY., 1 sister, Laura Denise Woods, Hyden, KY., 2 treasured grandsons, Gage Darrell Wayne Asher & Aaron Blake Dwayne Asher, special niece, Tonda Collins & Terry, special nephew, Chris Johnson, a special friend, Mary Brown & a host of other relatives & friends survive.

All services will be private according to the Governor's mandate.
