Susie Boggs Callahan

Mrs. Susie Boggs  Callahan born September 21, 1939 departed this life on, Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Wells Hospice Center, in Hazard, Ky. She was 82 years old.   Susie was born in Leslie Co., the daughter of the late Levi "Bud' Boggs and Martha Lewis Boggs.  Susie was a loving and caring homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a devoted member of the Big Fork Church of God at  Yeaddiss, Ky.  Susie was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., with the exception of living in Hazard, Ky. for the past 8 years.  She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing & quilting and digging ginseng.  Susie greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mrs. Susie Boggs Callahan was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband; Monroe Callahan, Sr., and sister; Alta McDowell.  She leaves surviving the following relatives:  cherished son; Monroe Callahan, Jr. and Sally of Yeaddiss, Ky., two cherished daughters; Edna Callahan of Hazard, Ky., Brenda Whitson & Homer of Hazard, Ky., one sister; Elva Callahan & Belve of Yeaddiss, Ky., three treasured grandchildren; Whitney Nevarez and Matt, Todd Whitson and Heather, Austin Callahan and Cheyenne, five treasured great, grandchildren; Adalynn, Zuri, Clover, Aubrey, Madison and a host of other relatives and friends.  

TIME AND PLACE OF FUNERAL:  2:00 p.m. - Thursday - December 30, 2021 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home

OFFICIATING MINISTERS:  Rev. Larry Callahan & Rev. Mike Joseph

TIME AND PLACE OF VISITATION: 11:00 a.m. - Thursday -12/30/2021 until the funeral hour at 2: 00 p.m. 

PLACE OF INTERMENT: Hurricane Cemetery, Hyden, Ky.

PALLBEARERS: Todd Whitson, Austin Callahan, Matt Nevarez, James Callahan, Tommy Callahan & Homer Whitson.
