Stanley Roark, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky, at the age of 86. Born on September 11, 1939, in Roark, Kentucky, Stanley lived a life marked by hard work, love for family, and resilient spirit.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Stanley served his country faithfully before embarking on a successful career as a coal miner and construction worker. His dedication to his work exemplified the values of determination and grit that he instilled in his family.

Stanley's interests extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid knife collector, loved horses and, most importantly, his family. Stanley believed in the importance of family gatherings and enjoyed sharing stories and laughter with loved ones.

He is survived by his two sons, John W. Roark and Raymond Charles Roark and Georgette; one daughter, Edith Angela Spurlock,  three brothers, Taylor Roark, Harold Roark, and Boone Hall; son-in-law, Clifford Berry; 11 grandchildren, including Spencer Roark, CR Berry, Akela Smallwood & Nate, Kaitlin Brock & Cameron, Terrigan Roark, Paige Sizemore & Gavin Wells, Matthew Sizemore, Xavier Roark, Zander Roark, Waylon Roark, and Kinsley Roark; and five great-grandchildren, Kaiden Roark, Reed Berry, Bennet Berry, Holden Berry, and Raelynn Wells. Stanley is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He joins his beloved wife, Edna Brock Roark; parents, Leonard Roark and Ruth Collett Roark; daughter, Luella Sue Roark Berry; sister, Edith Asher; brothers, M.D. Roark and Herman Roark; and special nephew, Leonard Charles Roark, in eternal rest.

Stanley's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, as they remember his unwavering love and commitment to those he held dear. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought into their lives.

The family may have a Memorial Service at a later date.

The family ask in lieu of flowers donations be made to the funeral home for the expenses.
