Shirley Ann Morgan, a beloved member of the community and a devoted public servant, passed away on December 13, 2025, at Baptist Health in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on November 21, 1942, in Columbia, where her journey began. Shirley dedicated a significant portion of her life to serving as the Chief Deputy Leslie County Circuit Clerk from 1981 to 2005, a role she executed with great integrity and commitment.
Throughout her life, Shirley was an active member of the Little Mission Church in Hardinsburg, Indiana, where she drew strength from her faith and inspired others in her community. Her unwavering dedication to her work and her church reflected her values of service and compassion.
Beloved sister Sandra Kay Couch and her husband William, along with several cherished nieces and nephews, will carry forward Shirley's legacy. These include Justin Edwards and Melinda, Tegan Couch, Michael Maupin, Billie Maupin, Aaron Maupin and Stephanie, Mark Maupin, and Linda Baelz and Roger.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Bige "JB" Morgan, her parents William Sanford Maupin and Anna Keltner Maupin, her brother, William (Bill) Maupin, and her sister, Rita Hattabough.
As we remember Shirley Ann Morgan, we celebrate a life that spanned over eight decades filled with love, service, and dedication to family and community. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Graveside Service: Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 2:30 at the Morgan-Hoskins Family Cemetery, Hoskinston, KY. with Johnnny Pace officiating
Visitation Wednesday at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.
