Shirley Rochelle Baker

Mrs. Shirley Rochelle Baker of Wooton passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was 83 years old. Shirley was born February 25, 1938 in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late, Edward Childers & Mildred Simpson Childers. She had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. with the exception of spending her formative years in Dalton, GA. By occupation she was a former owner of a grocery store & income tax preparer she had retired from Less Tax in Hazard as manager. Shirley enjoyed watching TV especially "Gunsmoke", fishing, sewing, flower gardening & jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Shirley Rochelle was preceded in death by her beloved parents, loving & devoted husband, Donald Baker & two sisters, Judith Quinn and Barbara jean Woods. She leaves the following relatives surviving; 3 sons, Kenneth E. Morgan & Shelly, Indianapolis, IN., Donald Wayne Baker, Jr., Lexington, KY. and Derrick Baker, Callahan, FL., 2 daughters, Donna Morgan, Cheryl Ownby & Freddie, Dalton, GA. 1 sister: Nila Shuler, Georgia,  6 treasured grandchildren & 5 treasured great grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Minister: Rev. Larry Lewis and Rev. Billy Joe Lewis

Interment: Baker Family Cemetery, (Beatty Branch), Wooton, KY.

Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 22nd at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel
