Scottie Dean Miniard, a dedicated individual whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, passed away on June 8, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was 49 years old. He was born February 3, 1976, in Beverly, Kentucky, and made his mark on the world through both his professional and personal endeavors.
A proud graduate of Leslie County High School, Scottie further pursued his passion for beauty and personal care, earning a master’s degree in cosmetology. His career found him as a manager at Food City in Piney Flats, Tennessee, where he was not only known for his strong work ethic but also for his willingness to assist those around him. Scottie exemplified what it meant to be a leader and a supporter to his colleagues and customers alike.
In addition to his professional achievements, Scottie had a deep love for animals, particularly his beloved pets: Rya, JW, Zeus, and Jericho. He was passionate about training them and took great joy in their companionship. Beyond his affectionate bond with animals, Scottie also cherished spending time surrounded by flowers, cooking, and expressing his creativity through art. His heart was expansive, as he consistently dedicated his efforts to helping others, including his commitment to supporting the homeless community.
Scottie is survived by his loving parents, Gary Dean Miniard and Wanda Faye Boggs Miniard, as well as his spouse, Chris Rowe. He cherished the bond with his paternal grandmother, Marybelle Miniard, and is also survived by his niece, Madelyn Bradford; nephew, Cameron Bradford; and brother-in-law, Chris Bradford. He held dear relationships with his paternal uncle, Marty Miniard (Rose), paternal aunts, Vivian Pollack (Todd), Linda Smith (David), and Nancy Miniard (Mary), maternal aunt, Ruth Boggs & her daughter Misty, along with a host of cousins. Scottie’s impact reached beyond family as he forged meaningful connections with special friends, including Bill Roe (Phyllis), Cynthia Farley, Deborah Smith, and Waylon Nantz
He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him as a thoughtful and compassionate soul. In addition to his living relatives, Scottie was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Darrell Miniard; maternal grandparents, Normus Boggs and Isabelle Turner Boggs; and his sister, Amanda Nicole Miniard Bradford.
Scottie Dean Miniard's legacy of love, service, and genuine care for others will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a profound void that will be felt deeply by his family and friends.
