Roberta Rice

Roberta Rice of Hyden, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Buchanan Co. General Hospital in Buchanan, VA. at the age of 54. Roberta was born January 7, 1965 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late, James Purvis & Helen Bowman Purvis. Roberta had been a life-long resident of Hyden, KY. & Grundy, VA. She enjoyed reading, yard-sales & spending time wih her family.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, 1 treasured grandson, Gunner Rice, 2 brothers, Dennis & Jimmy Purvis & 3 sisters, Esther Tina Lewis, Dianne Spurlock & Jackie Brummit. She leaves the following relatives surviving, loving & devoted husband, Paul Rice of Hyden, KY., 2 beloved sons, Richard Rice of Hyden, KY. & James Rice & Ashley of East Bernstadt, KY., 1 beloved daughter, Ashley Gibson & Chris of Thousandsticks, KY., 2 brothers, Kenneth Purvis & Angie of Thousandsticks, KY. & Ray Purvis & Betty of Jackson Co., KY., 1 sister, Sandra Purvis of Stinnett, KY. & 5 treasured grandchildren, Samantha Turner Rice, Trenton Rice, Raylen Rice, Grayson Rice & Kameron Rice. Also a host of nieces & nephews survive.

Funeral: Tuesday, June 18, 2019 @ 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Rev. Robert Amundsen

Interment: Rice Family Cemetery, Confluence, KY.

Pallbearers: Chris Gibson, Tony Bailey, Jr. Bailey, Joey Wright, Bobby Purvis, James Rice, Coy Lainhart & Kenneth Purvis
