Pearl Couch Abner

Pearl Couch Abner, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 83 in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on February 14, 1942, Pearl was known for her fun-loving and outgoing personality, which touched the lives of all who knew her. Her caring nature and dedication to her family defined her life.

She is survived by four daughters: Mable Lawson (James) of Red Bird, KY, Phyllis Coomer (John) of Scottsburg, IN, Clara Troutman (Kevin) of New Pekin, IN, and Christy Stice (Rodney) of Scottsburg, IN; two sons: Herbert Abner of Scottsburg, IN and Robert Abner (Anita) of New Albany, IN; one sister: Mable Arnold of Monteagle, TN; two brothers: Gorman Couch (Charlene) of Ohio and Doris Couch of Ohio. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. 

Throughout her life, Pearl found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing, spending time outside in nature, wrestling, UK basketball and creating memories with her family. Her proudest accomplishments were her children and their families, whom she loved unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by her late son, Jerry Wayne Abner; her parents, Robert and Flora Couch; her three brothers, Lane Couch, Raymond Couch, and Charlie Couch; and her two grandsons, Jacob Abner & Alex Rivera

Her warmth and devotion to her family will be remembered by those she touched. She was loved by all of her family and will always be in our hearts. She will be loved and missed dearly by all. 

Visitation: Friday, June 6, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. - Brutus Baptist Church in Oneida, KY

Funeral: Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1 pm at the Church

Officiating Minister: Bro. George Abner

Interment: Fairview Cemetery -Oneida, KY
