THE OBITUARY OF MRS. PAULINE BAKER ROBERTS

      Mrs. Pauline Baker Roberts of Essie, Ky., born August 10, 1935 departed this life on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky. She was 85 years old.  Pauline was born at Essie, Ky., the daughter of the late Walter Baker & Chaney Smith Baker.  Pauline was employed for 35 years by the Leslie Co. Board of education as a cook.  She began her distinguished career at the one room Stinnett School.  She also worked at the current Stinnett Elementary School and the Leslie Co. High School.  Pauline was a devoted member of the Stinnett Pentecostal Church & was a life-long resident of Leslie Co.  Pauline enjoyed fishing, gardening, sitting on the porch and cooking for family and friends.  Pauline would prepare entire meals for friends. She would then deliver the meals and spend the day visiting.  Pauline was well known for her Christmas baskets filled with homemade breads, which she delivered herself into her 80's.  Pauline greatest joy came from cooking and spending time with her family.  Pauline's family stated her fried potatoes were legendary.  Mrs. Pauline Baker Roberts was preceded in death by the following relatives; her parents, her loving and devoted husband; Oscar "Ott" Roberts, one son; Farmer Roberts; one son-in-law; James Bell; sisters; Eva Morgan, Retha Hamserly, Margaret Cox, Grace Howard, Rose Asher, Doris Estridge, Alice Taylor, brothers; John Baker, Miller Baker, Mack Baker & Maynard Baker.  Mrs. Pauline Baker Roberts leaves the following relatives surviving: one beloved daughter, Millicent "Micky" Bell of Essie, Ky., beloved daughter-in-law; Velma Whitehead Roberts of Essie, Ky.,  one sister; Barbara Brock of London, Ky., five treasured grandchildren; Bill Whitehead, Tammy Turner & Larry Wayne, Travis Bell, Gavin Roberts & Jennifer, Whitney Hensley & Doug, eight treasured, great grandchildren; Kasey Turner, Austin Turner, Lexie Whitehead, McKenzie Bell, Josie Whitehead, Raegan Hensley, James Hensley, Caleb Roberts, one great, great granddaughter; Faith Marie Turner, a host of nieces and nephews she cherished and loved dearly, & many dear friends who called her daily.  

TIME AND PLACE OF FUNERAL: 1:00 P.M. -  Tuesday - October 20, 2020 at Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Stinnett, Ky

TIME AND PLACE OF VISITATION: "A WALK THROUGH VISITATION" - 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. - Monday - October 19, 2020 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church
