Paul Coots

Mr. Paul Coots of Smilax, KY. passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the St. Joseph Hospital, London, KY. at the age of 83. Paul was born October 20, 1935 in Perry Co., KY. the son of the late, Hiram Coots & Adeline Jones Coots. Paul had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. Paul also had served as Constable for 21 years in District 3 & also served on the Cushin Volunteer Fire Dept. for 22 years. He was a member of the Polls Creek Church of Christ at Smilax, KY. Paul enjoyed gardening (especially tomatoes), ground hog hunting, woodworking (chairs & stools) & spending time with his family. 

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved parents, loving & devoted wife, Pauline, 2 beloved sons, Danny & Malcom Coots, 3 treasured grandsons, Raymond Paul, Clayton Paul & Randall Scott & a host of sisters & brothers. Paul is survived by 5 beloved sons, Keith Coots & wife, Linda of Hyden, KY., Elmer Coots & wife, Tina of Wooton, KY., Steven Coots & wife, Mae of Smilax, KY., Ernest Coots & wife, Crystal of Smilax, KY. & Dustin Coots & wife, Alexis of Stinnett, KY., 2 beloved daughters, Kathy Carroll & husband Clayton of Smilax, KY. & Donna Woods & husband, Dean of Thousandsticks, KY., 3 sisters, Geraldine Coots of Mace's Creek, KY., Ruth Ann Coots of Mace's Creek, KY. & Katherine Brock of Indiana, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren & 8 great great grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to the Polls Creek Church of Christ "Church Family" for their visits, prayer, support & genuine concern. Also thanks to the staff at Saint Joseph Hospital in London, KY.

Wednesday, January 16, 2019 @ 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
