Ova Rice Jr.

Mr. Ova Rice Jr. passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his residence in Yeaddiss, KY. at the age of 69.  Ova was born December 4, 1950 in Hazard, KY., the son of the late Ova Rice & Suda Bailey Rice.  He was a life-long resident of Leslie County.  By occupation he was a coal miner for 38 years.  He enjoyed wood working, fishing and gardening and was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Ova Rice & Suda Bailey Rice and brother: Clifford Darrell Rice.

He leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving and devoted wife of 49 years: Swannie Rice of Yeaddiss, KY.; son: Terry Allen Rice & Marissa of Stinnett, KY.; daughter: Elizabeth Christopher & Matthew of Corbin, KY.; grandchildren: Morgan Anglian & Matthew, Jacob Rice, Ian Christopher & Liza Christopher; special brother-in-laws: Chig Craft and Burley Williams; niece: April Rice Asher & Michael of Asher, KY. and great nephew: Jared Asher of Asher, KY.

Funeral: Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis and Rev. Don Kilburn

Visitation: Monday, January 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel

Interment: Full Gospel Church Cemetery - Smilax, KY.
