Oma Miniard Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Hospice Center. She was 72 years old. Born on November 15, 1953, in Hyden, Kentucky, she will be remembered for her love and kindness to all who met her. She grew up with the love and tender nurture of her mother, Elizabeth Shell Miniard, and father, Willard Miniard, running the sweet meadows of their beautiful farm and playing with her brothers and sisters. She spoke often of their love and teaching from the Word of God from the Holy Bible, that guided them all daily.
Oma is survived by her husband, Ellis Brown; her daughters, Charlotte Lynn Morgan and husband, John Hunt Morgan; Pansy Sue Ramsey and husband, Jason Ramsey; Robyn Michelle Sizemore and her husband, Brent Sizemore; her brother, Junior Miniard and wife, Annette Miniard;
She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, John Tyler Ratliff, Hunter Morgan and wife, Cera Morgan, and Andrew Morgan; Ethan Ramsey and Noah Ramsey; one granddaughter, Madison Sizemore, and one great grandson, Sunny Lee Morgan.
She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who she loved very dearly. She cared dearly for her precious friend Fern Elam, who she cared for daily.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Shell Miniard, and father, Willard Miniard; her brothers, Hobert Miniard, Henderson Miniard, Johnny Miniard, and Roscoe Miniard; sisters, Marjorine Harris, Cindy Adams, Nancy Harris, and Cathy Fields.
Oma’s life was founded upon the rock of her strength, Jesus Christ her Lord and his teachings, love of her family, friends, and neighbors. She was a member of the Precious Body of Jesus Christ. She will always be remembered for her love, kindness, and heart for the needs of others before her own.
