Nannie Kay Hendrix

Mrs. Nannie Kay Hendrix born November 16, 1962 departed this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at her residence.  She was 57 years old.  Kay was born at Hyden, Ky., the daughter of Edna Hamblin Maggard and the late Larkin Maggard.  Kay was the co-owner of Hyden Florist for 33 years with her husband, Lonnie.  Kay was very active in Hyden, Leslie Co. & the local community.  Kay served as the secretary of the Kiwanis Club and served on numerous boards.  Kay served on the board of the Women's abuse center in Hazard, Ky., the Leslie Co. 4-H Board, the Leslie Co. Chamber of Commerce. City of Hyden Parks Board, Leslie Co. Humane Society & Helping Hands.  Kay's greatest joys and fulfillment came from helping and assisting children in any capacity she could and spending time with her family.  She often supported many children's organizations anonymously.  Kay was preceded in death by her father; Larkin Maggard.  Mrs. Hendrix leaves the following relatives surviving: her loving and devoted husband; Lonnie Hendrix, whom she married on May 13, 1982, her treasured son; Christian Trey Hendrix of Hyden, Ky. beloved mother; Edna H. Maggard of Winchester, Ky., three beloved brothers; Isaac Maggard & Tina of Stinnett, Ky., Chris Maggard and Natasha of Louisville, Ky. Lonnie Maggard of Hazard, Ky., one beloved sister; Zola Wells of Winchester, Ky., special friends; Carol Joseph & Debbie Gross & a host of other nieces and nephews. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to Isaac Maggard & Tina and Larry Hendrix & Dorothy Gail for their loving, devoted & genuine care, assistance and support they provided for Kay during her sickness.  Lonnie & Trey express their heart-felt thanks! 

Family request donation be made to the Leslie County Humane Society at P.O. Box 619 Hyden, KY 41749.

*THE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE PRIVATE AT KAY'S REQUEST, SHE DID NOT WANT TO JEOPARDIZE ANYONE'S HEALTH DUE TO COVID 19!
