Mrs. Mamie Young Woods was born March 2, 1935 in Leslie County Kentucky. Mamie is the daughter of the late John Young and Rachel Gibson Young. Mamie passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at her residence. Mamie was a life long resident of Leslie County. Mamie was a loving & devoted homemaker. She loved to cook and take care of her children and grandchildren.
Mamie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, loving and devoted husband, Clarence Woods, two daughters, Darlene Woods and Joyce Ann Sparks, two sons, Ronald Woods and David Wayne Woods, brothers, Wade Young, Denver Lee Young, Dennis Young and Elmer Young and sisters, Nellie Collins, Geneva Couch and Pauline Abner.
She leaves the following relatives to mourn her passing; three sons, Denver Woods (Charlene), Douglas Dwayne Woods (Teresa) and Michael Woods (Kim), five daughters, Annie Thompson (Bill), Lois Mosley, Linda Woods (Glenn), Barbara Woods and Mary Gail Harris (Charles "Hoss"), daughter-in-law, Marie Woods, two brothers, Kenneth Young (Sadie) and Ronald Young (Earlene), grandchildren, Allen Thompson (Tami), Gregory Keith Davidson (Shelly), Richard Woods (TaUsha), Cecil Fletcher (Amanda), Tracy Woods, Roger Lee Burns (Carly), Shalena Jarvis (Paul), Makesha Woods, Stephanie Woods (Chris), Felisha Hawkins (David), James B. Harris (Misty), Olivia Harris, Byron David Woods (Felicia), LaShunna Woods, Dustin Dwayne Woods (Brandy), Luke Woods, Kash and Kynslee Harvey, thirty-four great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild on the way and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends survive.
Funeral: Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sizerock Baptist Church, Sizerock, KY

Interment: Woods-Allen & Ohmit Family Cemetery, Sizerock, KY
