Mr. Loren Deaton of Dryhill, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 at the Bluegrass Care Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was 91 years old. Loren was born February 7, 1935 on Grassy Branch in Leslie County. The son of the late Rufus Deaton & Ollie Spicer Deaton. Loren retired from Family Home Care. He loved fishing and enjoyed hunting, gardening, 4 wheeling, and spending time in the mountains digging ginseng. A very talented man, he could build or repair anything.
Loren was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Veronica J. Deaton, his parents, brothers, Alvin, Charles, Willis & Edgar Deaton and sister, Wilma Ruth Williams.
Loren leaves the following relatives surviving, beloved children, Patricia, Donna, Deborah, Linda, Rebecca and Eddie, grandchildren, Clint, Becky, Jennifer, Robert, Jacqueline, Veronica, Sabrina, Danny and Michael, great grandchildren, Madison, Chloe, Jordan, Noah, Avery, Peyton, Robby, Amelia, Emma, Anson, Jaxxon, Harrison and Brooks, great-great grandchilldren, Eden, Delilah and Karter, brothers, Eugene and Dwayne and sisters, Sheila Faye, Joyde, Thelma Jean and Kathy. Along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral: Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church, Hyden, Kentucky
Ministers: Pastor Ted Couch and Andrew Farmer
Interment: Jack Napier Cemetery, Thousandsticks, Kentucky
Pallbearers: Clint Drovie, Robert Drovie, Veronica Whisenant, Robert Prystup III and Glenn Gilbert
Visitation: Saturday, July 11th at 10:30 A.M. until time of funeral hour at 12:00 Noon
