Mitchell Keith Farler, 65, of Kentucky, passed away on August 28, 2026, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born on September 28, 1960, in Smilax, Kentucky, Mitchell was a man remembered for his friendly and kind nature and for the deep love he had for his family. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, and he especially loved spending time in the mountains digging ginseng. More than anything, he cherished time spent with those he loved, and his family remained at the center of his life.
He is survived by his mother, Iona Cornett Farler. He also leaves behind his sons, Lance Farler and Amanda, Anthony Farler, and Rocky Keith Farler; his daughters, Shanna Garcia and his special daughter, Natalee. He is also survived by his brothers, Lonnie Farler and Mary, Robin Farler and Christine, and Freddy Farler and Tonya. Among those who will continue to treasure his memory are his first cousin and special friend, David Howard, as well as his grandchildren, B.J., Leah, Shayley, Marissa, Braeden, K.J., Mason, and Ava Joy.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Farler; his wife, Joy Lewis; his brother, Benny; his grandson, Tristan; and his friend, Ruk Turner.
Those who knew Mitchell will remember a man who found happiness in simple pleasures, who valued the outdoors, and who brought warmth to the lives of the people around him. His memory will live on in the love of his family and friends and in the many moments they shared together.
