Michael "Mack" Bentley

June 15, 1951 — January 19, 2022

Mr. Michael "Mack" Bentley was born June 15, 1951. He was the youngest son of the late Noah and Mollie (Spurlock) Bentley. Mack was a lifelong resident of Leslie County, except for having lived in Perry Co. for 4 years. He was an electrician by trade, having worked for Star Fire mining for many years and independently as a contractor for the last 20 years. He was supposed to live forever, as he repeatedly told many of his family members, so that we would never have to live without him. Mack loved playing practical jokes. He was as stubborn as they come, tougher than a $2 steak. He loved Jesus, his family (those he was related to by blood and those he gathered along the way), and he loved to argue more than most. To say he was an active member of Rockhouse Baptist Church is an understatement. He was often the glue that held the church together. He was the first to show up and the last to leave. He served in too many roles to name but just to mention a few, Senior Deacon, Sunday School teacher and leader of "Celebrate Recovery" but most of all, he was a disciple of Jesus who made disciples of Jesus. The hole that he's left in our hearts will never be filled but we rejoice in knowing that he got to hear Jesus say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Michael "Mack" Bentley passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. He was 70 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Mollie, 5 brothers, Morris, Leroy, John Herman, Ralph and Harold and 1 sister, Laura Melton. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife, of 40 years, Brenda Holland Bentley, 2 daughters, Georgia (Benjamin) Krakora of Springfield, OH and Mollie Ann Bentley of Hyden, KY, 1 sister, Judy(Glen) Scholz of Franklin, OH, 4 grandchildren, Walter, Abigail, Joseph, and Evangelina Krakora. 2 foster Grandchildren that he loved as if they were his own and a host of special friends and family too numerous to list.
