Melvin Keith Helton

Mr. Melvin Keith Helton, born, March 13, 1942 at Beverly, Kentucky the son of the late, Stratton Helton & Viola Howard Helton. He passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Continue Care Hospital at Baptist Health in Corbin, KY. He was 81 years old. Melvin had been a resident of Leslie County since 1985. He had also lived in Chicago. By occupation he was a steel worker for Belmont Steel in Chicago, Ill. Melvin was affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Melvin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, special brothers, Ernest Howard & Edward Helton, cherished son, George Gareth, cherished daughter, Glenda Young and special sisters, Ethel, Jean and Hazel. He leaves the following relatives surviving;  cherished son, Keith Helton, Asher, KY, cherished daughter, Elizabeth Holland, Essie, KY, special sister, Mary Elizabeth Howard & husband, Ralph, Stinnett, KY, six treasured grandchildren, Gene, Kelsie Pearl, Abby Gail Violet, Darren, C.C. and Michael Douglas Whitehead & a very special niece, Geneva Lewis. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Middlefork United Methodist Church, Helton, KY

Minister: Darrell "Lil Darrell" Helton

Interment: Honey Branch Cemetery, Helton, KY.

Visitation: Saturday, July 15th at 12:00 Noon at the Church
