Mary Lou Smith Nantz

Mrs. Mary Lou Smith Nantz departed this life on Wedneday, Nov. 25  2020 at the Bridgepointe Assistant Living Center in Nicholasville, KY. She was born at LaJunor, (Harlan County), KY the daughter of the late Grant and Mae West Smith.  She was a retired school teacher, having worked for the Leslie County Board of Education. Mary Lou was a charter member of the Wooton Baptist Church and had been a resident of Leslie County since 1952 with the exception of living in Nicholasville, KY., for the past 3 years. Mary Lou was an avid reader and enjoyed the company of her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband: Wilburn Nantz. She leaves surviving the following relatives her loving son: Paul Douglas Pack and wife Rose of Wooton, KY, one beloved daughter: Janet Whitehouse and husband Michael of Nicholasville, KY, one sister: Lynn Hobbs of Jacksonville, FL, three grandchildren: Jennifer Pack, Vicki Hensley and husband Russ, and Marty Riney and husband Tom, four great grandchildren: Zack Hensley, Ben Hensley, Carter Hensley and Evie Riney. Mary Lou is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to First Baptist Church of Wooton, P.O. Box 169, Wooton, Kentucky  41776.
