Leroy Couch

Mrs. Leroy Couch, age 88 of Hyden, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home of September 13, 2025 , surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on June 2, 1937 in Hyden, Kentucky , to the late Roy Couch and Sophie Burns.  Leroy was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Mark Hoskins, her cherished sons, Richard David Couch and Warren Couch, her treasured granddaughter, Lisa Renee, and her siblings, Alfa, RoyLee, Mitchell, Green and Helen. Leroy leaves the following survivors, her beloved children, Thomas Couch and Edith of Hyden, KY,  Theresa Couch of Hyden, KY., Helen Beringer and Troy of Bellvue, Illinois, Bigie Couch of Indianapolis, Indiana, her treasured granddaughters, Bridgit Malone and Nathan, Amanda Couch, Tanya Caldwell & Dale,and nine treasured great grandchildren & sister, Evelee of Ohio, who will cherish her memory forever.

Leroy dedicated nearly 40 years of service to the Mary Breckinridge Hosital, Hyden, Ky. and later retired from the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center, Hazard, KY.She was remembered for her compassion and genuine concern by both the patients and her co-workers.  She was an avid member of the community and took immense joy in her many years of involvement in the Mary Breckinridge Festival.  She most enjoyed being with her family & especially cooking for each of them. Leroy could often be found sitting on her porch, a place where she found peace and happines.  She will be remembered as a kind and loivng woman, generous with her time and heart, and admired for her strength and resilience.  Her legacy of love, resilience and dedication will continue to live on.
