Laura spent over the last 40 years living in Jackson County, KY but spent many years in Fort Wayne, IN as well. Laura loved her family and cherished spending every moment she could with them. She loved watching her great grandchildren grow and was there for them in every way she could be. While living in Fort Wayne, Laura worked many years as a LPN at the state hospital in Indiana. After moving to Jackson County, Laura and Stanley owned and operated Collett’s Grocery at New Zion where she met many lifelong friends. Laura never met a stranger and was known to nearly everyone in McKee, most often as Mamaw. She remembered everyone’s names and their stories. She was a compassionate person that would give everything she had to see others have what they needed and wanted. She was truly one of a kind. Laura was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church but also loved attending church at Warfork Holiness church with her grandchildren.
