Bledsoe

Kenneth Eugene Howard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at his residence in Bledsoe, Kentucky. He was 79 years old. Born on March 26, 1946, in Beverly, Kentucky, Kenneth's life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for family and faith.

A proud graduate of Leslie County High School in Hyden, Kentucky, Kenneth furthered his education by earning an Associate Degree. His passion for his craft led him to become a respected Welding Instructor at the Leslie County Vocational Technical School in Hyden, where he shared his expertise and nurtured the skills of many young individuals. Beyond education, Kenneth demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit as the owner and operator of Kenneth Howard Trucking, a testament to his industrious nature and commitment to serving his community.

Kenneth was a devoted member of the New Hope Community Church at Warbranch, Kentucky, where his faith was an integral part of his life. His warm spirit was evident not only in his professional endeavors but also in his personal joys. He greatly treasured family dinners, fishing excursions, and the simple pleasure of spending quality family time. He especially enjoyed working alongside his wife, Wanda, tending to flowers and sharing countless stories, often reminiscing about his trucking years while sitting on the porch.

In 1991, Kenneth and Wanda Brock Howard united their lives and families in marriage, a milestone he regarded as one of his proudest accomplishments. Together, they cultivated a loving home filled with laughter and support. There two families became one.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda; his sons Eugene Howard and Rick Morgan (Casey); his daughters Doris Howard (Paul Slone), and Regina Caldwell, married to Charles; and a large, loving extended family. His grandchildren, Heather Joseph (Bo), Jonathon Taylor (Becky), Dustin Wilson, Alexander Taylor (Kristen), Travis Howard (Christian), Lesley Blackwell (James), Petty Officer First Class Daniel Jones, Whitney Caldwell, Nathan Morgan and Jessica Wilson, along with a growing number of great-grandchildren—Abby Sulfridge, Jaxon Taylor, Dominic Joseph, Avery Wilson, Charli Wilson, Winstin Wilson, Kelsey Wilson, Raegan Wilson, Porter Wilson, Ruby Taylor, Ella Howard, Elliotte Howard, Reyanna Howard and Marlee Blackwell—stand as living legacies of his enduring influence.

He also held a special place in his heart for his close friend Floyd Turner and his special nephew Roger Snyder, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who were blessed to know him.

Kenneth’s life was also shaped by those who preceded him in death, including his parents, Ulysses S. Howard and Mattie Brown Howard; his daughter Lisa Roark and her husband, Terry Roark; daughter-in-law Jeannette Howard; grandson Shawn Wilson; brother Wesley Howard; and sisters Roberta Parnell and Helen Wilson.

Kenneth Eugene Howard’s legacy is one of steadfast devotion to family, faith, and community. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his storytelling charm, and the love he so freely gave. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
