The obituary of Mr. Kelly Rice
Mr. Kelly Rice born April 2, 1934 departed this life on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Greg & Noreen Well Hospice Care Center, Hazard, Ky. He was 85 years old. Kelly was born at Dryhill, Ky., the son of the late Charles Rice & Alta Begley Rice. Kelly was a former coal miner, former employee of IBM facory & service, Lexington, Ky., & retired from the Leslie Co. Board of Education after 19 years of distinguished service. He was a member of the Smilax Church of Christ, Smilax, Ky. Kelly was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, telling stories, hunting, however his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, grandchildren & friends. Mr. Kelly Rice was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Troy, Farris, John Henry, Carlo, Lindbergh, Julius, Alden, Will Rice & one sister; Geneva Parsons. Mr. Kelly Rice leaves the following relatives surviving; his loving and devoted wife of 65 years; Vanda Johnson Rice of Wooton, Ky., three beloved daughters; Evanna Lein Rice Turner & husband, Harold of Smilax, Ky., Deanna Rice Adams & husband, Lonnie, of Wooton, Ky., Lisa Rice Stamper & husband, Lynn, of Wooton, Ky., one cherished brother; Miller Rice and wife, Mary Ann of Hyden, Ky., six treasured grandchildren; Harold Douglas Turner & Judy, Jonathan Kelly Turner & Nikki, Shawn Alan Turner & Mallary, Kevin Lynn Stamper, Jennifer Brittany Caldwell & Steven, Byron Cody Adams & Kayla, eight treasured, great grandchildfen, Brianna, Isabella, Hunter, Nathan, Jennarae, Colton, Laken & Noah & a host of nieces, nephews, other family members & friends.
