On Monday, September 20, 2021, June Wells Joseph was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, being 85 years old.
June Wells Joseph was born on February 11, 1936, in Wooton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Matt James Wells and Mallie Maggard Wells. Other than her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bill Joseph; one son, Jesse Joseph; four brothers and five sisters.
June was a member of the Hyden Church God of Hyden, Kentucky. She loved going to church, quilting, listening to Bluegrass Gospel music and especially spending time with her family. June also loved working in her vegetable garden. She was a loving wife, mother, mamaw and friend. She will be greatly missed.
June Wells Joseph is survived by one son, Bill Joseph, Jr and Jenni of Morehead, Kentucky; four daughters, Barbara Smith, Mallie Pennington & Jimmy of Wooton, Kentucky, Nancy Roberts of Hyden, Kentucky, and Dora Joseph of Wooton, Kentucky; two sisters, Linda Maggard of Smilax, Kentucky and Rose Mitchell of Yeaddiss, Kentucky; two grandsons, Matthew Joseph & Katie of Georgetown, Kentucky and Caleb Shuck of Morehead, Kentucky, three granddaughters, Catina Byrd & Marc of Richmond, Kentucky, Chasity Taylor & Cory of Wooton, Kentucky, and Billie Sue Bowling & Wayne Ed of Hazard, Kentucky; five great-grandchildren, Kage Baker, Drew Bowling, Madison Lewis, Haley Bowling, Tayla Lewis, and Eliza June Joseph. Special nephew & his family, Tony Begley & Vicki, & their children Kyle and Little Haley.
Funeral Services for June Wells Joseph will be conducted on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor Logan Wayne Bowling, Ronnie Wells & Terry Joseph officiating. The Interment will follow in the Bill Joseph Cemetery located at Wooton, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 P.M.
