Mrs. Joyce Ruth Lewis born February 28, 1956 departed this life Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, Ky. She was 64 years old. Joyce was born in Hazard, Ky., the daughter of the late John C. Lewis & Emily Turner Lewis. Joyce was a devoted member of the Big Fork Church of God, Yeaddiss, Ky. Joyce took great pride in her housework & enjoyed attending church. Joyce's greatest love was spending time with children and grandchildren. Joyce was a loving mother & grandmother. Joyce was a resident of Mallie, Ky., at the time of her death. She was a life-long resident of Yeaddiss & Wooton, Ky., with the exception of living in Mallie, Ky., with her son Jonathan for the past two years. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her loving and devoted husband; Edwin Lewis, brothers; Paul, Clevon, Hurlen & Clifford, & sister; Evelyn Lewis Baker. Mrs. Joyce Ruth Lewis leaves the following relatives surviving: beloved son; Jonathan Lewis & wife, Gracie of Mallie, Ky., one beloved daughter; Lorie Griffith & Kenny of California, two brothers; Bill Lewis of Bledsoe, Ky. & Eugene Lewis and wife, Lexine of Dayton, Ohio, sisters; Vernell Lewis of Stinnett, Ky., Elizabeth Roberts and Victor of Stinnett, Ky., Lois Brock & Johnny of Stinnett, Ky., Faye North and James of Yeaddiss, Ky., Cinda Joseph of Wooton, Ky. & Martha Woods of Texas, six treasured grandchildren; Madison Lewis, Tayla Lewis, Christina Piper, Ashley Spencer, Travis Piper & Althea Stamper & seven treasured, great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
