John Arvil Perry II

Mr. John Arvil Perry II was born March 25, 1946 in Williamsburg Kentucky. John was the son of the late, John Arvil Perry Sr. and the late, Jewel Ball Perry. John passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Well's Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was 77 years old. John had been a resident of Leslie County since 1967. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. By occupation John was a retired elementary teacher for the Leslie County School System. He had taught at Hayes Lewis Elementary, Stinnett Elementary & Beech Fork Elementary.  John was a member of the Upper Beech Fork United Methodist Church. John was a member of the KEA & NRA. He enjoyed hunting & was a gun enthusiast.

John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, brothers, Carl Wayne Perry & Jerry McKinley Perry, sisters, Belva Joan Dars and Faitha Jean Brock & her two children.  John leaves surviving his loving & devoted wife, Bessie Brock Perry whom he married on September 6, 1968, one cherished daughter, Johnah Carol Perry Napier & James Phillip Napier of Helton, KY, treasured nephew, Danny Joe Cox & family of Middlesboro, KY and special friends, Shelby & Peggy Martin of Happy, KY. Also a host of other family & friends survive.

Funeral: Monday, July 17, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY

*Full military rites will be observed by the Leslie County DAV Chapter #133*

 Minister:  Rev. Teddy Brock

Interment: Perry Family Cemetery, Helton, KY

Visitation: Monday, July 17th at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel
