Jerry Clinton Pennington, 78, of Clermont, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was born on December 8, 1947, in Hyden, Leslie County, Kentucky, to Arthur Pennington and Grace Bowling Pennington.

Jerry began his career at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, OH, where he worked as a Radiology Technician specializing in CAT scan and MRI technology. He also drove the Mobile MRI scanner, bringing his knowledge and skills to serve others. Later in life, Jerry became a truck driver, traveling across the United States and parts of Canada until his retirement. He took pride in his work and in the life he helped build for his family.

He was a devoted husband of 44 years to Debbie Pennington, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching college football, both Ohio State and Kentucky Wildcat. Spending time with his grandchildren and relaxing with his favorite old westerns. Jerry was the kind of man who would do anything for the people he loved and was always there whenever someone needed him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Ann Pennington Adams, as well as several beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Pennington (Yoder’s) of Clermont; his son, Ryan Pennington of Clermont; his daughters, Teresa Kiger (Kevin) of Sabina, OH, and Danielle Dean (Andrew) of Clermont, FL; his brothers, Billy Ward Pennington (Katherine) of Richmond, KY, and Richard Wayne Pennington (Francis) of Hyden, KY.

Jerry also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Noah, and Grace Kiger; Aiden, Waylon and Sadie Dean; one great-grandchild, Everlee; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

In accordance with Jerry's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family invites those who knew and loved him to honor his memory by sharing photos and memories in his online tribute.
