Janice Sue Sizemore

Mrs. Janice Sue Sizemore, was born November 16, 1948 in LeJunior, Harlan Co., KY, the daughter of the late, Clyde Hill and Margaret Holbert Hill. She passed away Wednesday November 24, 2021 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. She was 73 years of age. Janice had been a resident of Leslie Co. since 1957. Janice had a very distinguished career in education.   She was a retired elementary & special education teacher for 32 years in the Leslie Co. School system.  Janice assisted many first year teacher interns by serving as their resource teacher. Janice received her Bachelors degree from Cumberland College and her Masters degree & Rank I at EKU. She was a devoted member of the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church at Thousandsticks, KY for 30 years, she was the treasurer of the United Methodist Women Group & worked in VBS, Janice loved attending church,  and was very active in the community.  She attended Leslie County Retired Teachers, helped with both Relay For Life and Taste of Leslie Co. Janice also attended the Leslie Co. Homemaker's Club.  Janice felt her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a wife to Eddie Wayne. a mother to her sons,  a grandmother to her grandchildren & an aunt to her nieces and nephews. 

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved parents and brothers, Don, C.L. & Jefferson Ellis. She leaves the following relatives surviving; her loving & devoted husband, Eddie Wayne Sizemore of Thousandsticks, KY, two cherished sons, Wayne Sizemore (Andrus) of Jackson, KY. and Allen Sizemore of Lexington, KY, one brother, Ernest Hill (Bessie) of Ashland, KY, three treasured grandchildren, Slayde Sizemore, Hylton Sizemore & McClellan Sizemore, special niece, Michelle Hill Wilson (Wilfred) and special great nephew, Nicholas Wilson. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Monday, November 29, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY

Minister: Rev. Robert Amundsen

Interment: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East, Hyden, KY

Pallbearers: Allen Sizemore, Wayne Sizemore, Nick Wilson, Hylton Sizemore, Slayde Sizemore and Wilfred Wilson

Visitation: Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
