Janet Lou Slusher

Janet Lou Slusher, born on February 8, 1962, in Beverly, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 6, 2025. Janet was known not only for her professional accomplishments as a Finance Director for Red Bird Mission, but also for her unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Travis Slusher and his wife Melanie of Roark, KY, and her daughter, Jani Gail Sizemore and her husband Zachary of Clinton, TN. Janet was a beloved sister to Kenneth Smith and his wife Jan of Roark, KY, Raymond Smith and his wife Nancy of McKee, KY, and Edith Smith of McKee, KY. Additionally, she cherished her special nephew, Joe Asher of Tokyo, Japan. Janet was a proud grandmother to Lily Slusher, Mason Slusher, Jacob Sizemore, Jackson Sizemore, Magnolia Slusher, John Sizemore, and welcomed the joy of another grandchild on the way.

Janet's love and devotion to her family were evident in all she did; her proudest accomplishments encompassed her roles as a mother, grandmother, and friend. Beyond her professional life, she enjoyed spending precious moments with her grandchildren, indulged in the companionship of her pets, and embraced the thrill of horseback riding throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Burley Sizemore and Linda Jane Slusher, as well as the father of her children, Bruce Slusher.

Visitation services will be held at Bowens Creek United Baptist Church in Essie, KY, on August 9, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location on August 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM. 

Janet Lou Slusher's vibrant spirit touches the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
