James "Jim" Payton

Mr. James "Jim" Payton of Waco, KY., passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his residence. He was 60 years old. James was born April 3, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan, the Son of the late Merville Clifford Payton and the late Joyce Cougar Terry. James was a veteran of the Kentucky National Guard having served for 16 years. James was also a Construction worker by trade. James enjoyed Motorcycles and RC Cars as well as spending time with his friends and family especially his grandkids. 

James was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Laura Mae Osborne, Joyce "sissy" Osborne and Patricia "Patty" Turner. He leaves the following relatives surviving beloved daughter Amanda Fluty and Tara of Frankfort, Ky. Beloved son James Lester Payton and Karen of Waco, Ky. Sister Ellen Robbins and Mike of Davison, Michigan. Father in Law Jay and LeAnn Jones of Waco, Ky. Mother in Law Evelyn Wells Frankfort, Ky. Brother in Law Johnny Jones and Brandy, Russel Springs, Ky. Cherished Grandchildren Jayden Payton, Felix Payton, Andrew Davis and Bentley Payton. Also a host of cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. 

Funeral: Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Ky. 

Minister: Virgil Gibson  

Interment: Oakley Jones Cemetery, Thousandsticks, Ky. 

Pallbearers: Johnny Darrel Jones, Estill Jones, Isiah Wagers, Chuck Richardson, Ronnie Dunn, Allen Hackworth, Josh Anglin, and Tara Fluty. 

Visitation Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Ky., at 10:00 A.M. until the funeral Hour.
