James F. Holland

James F. Holland passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was 51 years old. James was born, October 2, 1970 in Hyden, KY. the son of Margaret Collett Holland and the late, Forester Holland. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie County with the exception of living in Greensburg, KY. for the past 12 years. By occupation he was a former coal miner. He was of the Holiness faith. James enjoyed fishing, game roosters, loved his dog Trixie and spending time with his family.

James was preceded in death by his cherished father, Forester Holland, paternal grandparents, Ed & Nancy Collett Holland, maternal grandparents, Ballard & Bernice Sizemore Collett and a nephew, Zachary Daniel Osborne. He leaves the following relatives surviving; cherished mother, Margaret Collett Holland Hensley, Greensburg, KY, wife, Tanya C. Holland, Greensburg, KY, 2 cherished daughters, Paige Holland Upton & Kelly, Greensburg, KY and Ashley Holland, Greensburg, KY, 1 brother, Dallas Collett, Greensburg, KY, 3 sisters, Tammie Holland, Greensburg, KY, Tina Hernandez & Cain, Greensburg, KY and Georgia Lynn Roberts, a special uncle, Jerry Collett and special cousin, Liz Collett. Also a host of treasured nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends survive. 

Funeral: Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lower Bowens Creek United Methodist Church, Essie, KY

Ministers: Ralph Brown, Teddy Brock and Roscoe Asher

Interment: Bowens Creek Cemetery, Essie, KY.

Pallbearers: Ralph Barrett, Robert Collett, Ova Collett, Dylan Collett, Carlos Collett and Austin Barrett

Visitation: Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 6:00-9:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, Feb. 13th at 10:00 A.M. at the Church
