James Tolman Hacker

June 12, 1945 — August 9, 2022

Mr. James Tolman Hacker, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital. He was 77 years old. James was born June 12, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late, Tolman Hacker and the late, Emma Morgan Hacker. James served honorably in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam ERA. James had been a life long resident of Leslie County and was a truck driver and logger. James enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening.

James was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Tolman Hacker and Emma Morgan Hacker, two brothers, McKinley and Elvin Hacker, sisters, Janice Smith and Betty Ann Morgan & step-son, Mart Stephen Davidson. He leaves the following relatives surviving; two cherished daughters, Renee Stidham and husband Troy, Hyden, Kentucky & Ava Asher, Stinnett, Kentucky, step-daughter, Donna Davidson & son, Alex, mother of children, Yvonne Hoskins Hacker, Stinnett, Kentucky, one brother, Franklin Anthony "Tony" Hacker and wife, Carolyn, Essie, Kentucky, four sisters, Rosemary Wilson and husband, Ray, Hyden, Kentucky, Eileen Morgan, Wendover, Kentucky, Leila Gail Shell, Berea, Kentucky & Ruth Wells and husband, JR, Hoskinston, Kentucky, two treasured grandchildren, Kacey Stidham & Ashley Hacker and husband, Andrew & two treasured great grandchildren, Avary James Hacker (his namesake) & Emery Dean Hacker. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. 

Funeral: Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky

Officiating Minister: Bige Maggard

Interment: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East, Hyden, Kentucky

*Full Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie County DAV Chapter #133*

Visitation: Friday, August 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
