James Edward Dean, Jr.

Mr. James Edward Dean, Jr. born September 30, 1948 in Barberton, Ohio, the son of the late, James Edward Dean, Sr. and the late, Betty Williams Dean. He passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center, in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was 73 years old. James had been a resident of Fort Braggs, North Carolina for a number of years. He had been a resident at Yeaddiss, KY for the past seven years. James was a veteran where he served honorably in the U.S. Army -3 tours Vietnam War. By occupation he was a retired corp. supt. at Bojangles and Wendy's & was a retired truck driver. James was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed collecting toy cars, hunting, making lamps, woodworking and spending time with his family.

James was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Edward Dean, Sr. and Betty Williams Dean and his loving and devoted wife, Tena Dean. He leaves the following relatives surviving; two cherished daughters, Jamie Dean and Fiance' Rasheen, Savannah, GA and Allison Howington and Jeff, Salyersville, KY, one sister, Judy K. Dean, Oh and two treasured grandchildren, Trevor Lee Howington and Ava Grace Howington. Also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Memorial Service:2:00 P.M. - Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY

Minister: Paul Baker

*Full Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie Co DAV Chapter #133*

Interment: Willie and Alice Baker Family Cemetery, Yeaddiss, KY.

Visitation: Fri. Aug. 5th at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel
