James Bige "J.B." Morgan, a dedicated family man and respected member of his community, passed away on May 16, 2025, at Mary Breckinridge-ARH in Hyden, Kentucky. He was born on April 10, 1943, in Hoskinston, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by hard work and a strong commitment to his family.
J.B. built a solid career as a factory employee, later becoming a self-employed logger, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic. Those who knew him appreciated his quiet resilience and dedication to providing for his family.
An active member of the Little Mission Church in Hardinsburg, Indiana, J.B. drew strength and inspiration from his faith. He was deeply involved in his church community, where he forged lasting friendships that enriched his life.
J.B. cherished the simple joys of life, particularly fishing and spending cherished moments with his family. He valued these connections above all else, and they brought him great happiness throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Maupin Morgan, whom he married on July 13, 1963. His enduring legacy will also be carried on by his brother, Jack Morgan, and his two sisters, Judy Rose Morgan Saylor and Carmolitta Morgan Pace, along with her husband, Johnny. J.B. was a beloved uncle and is survived by his nieces, Marian Greenawelt & Scott, Jackie Johnson & Jeff, and Andrea Begley & Tate, as well as his nephews, Duane Coy & Dawn, Sam Coy & Lisa, James Saylor & Denise, and John Douglas Pace & McKenzie. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ethel Morgan, as well as his sister, Carolene Coy, and her husband Herman, and his brother-in-law, James Saylor.
J.B. Morgan’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of hard work, commitment to family, and love for his community will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral: Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky.
