Jake's accomplishments extended beyond his family and career; he was known for his unique venture of raising and trading high-quality deer, a pursuit that showcased his flair for entrepreneurship and commitment to excellence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Keffie and Lizzie Turner Burkhart, as well as his siblings, Ruth Baker and Marie Ross. He also mourned the loss of his sister-in-law, Nora Burkhart, and brother-in-law, Henry Baker.
