Hobert Strong

Mr. Hobert Strong was born December 15, 1951 in Leslie County, Kentucky. Hobert was the son of the late, Robert "Bob" Strong and Maudie North Strong. Hobert passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. He was 71 years old.  Hobert had been a resident of Oliver Springs, Tennessee for the past 25 years. Hobert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. By occupation he was a retired correctional officer at Brushy Mountain TN. State Penitentiary. Hobert was affiliated with the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing for his hobby and he especially loved spending time with his family.

Hobert was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert "Bob" Strong and Maudie North Strong, one cherished son, Robert Chad Strong, one special brother, Truman Strong, one special step-brother, Elbert Mosley, seven special half-brothers, George Strong, Kelly Strong, Henry Strong, Ray Strong, James Strong, Chester Strong & Eugene North and three special half-sisters, Lottie Lewis, Ruth McVey and Lucy Strong.

He leaves the following relatives surviving; loving & devoted wife, Linda Strong, Oliver Springs, Tennessee, one cherished son, Nicholas Adam Strong (Vanessa), Hamilton, Ohio, four cherished daughters, Jodi Strong, Hamilton, KY., Mary Vitek (Kurtis), Columbus, Ohio, Bonnie Richmond, Vandalia, Ohio and Scheryl Stout, Clinton, TN., two special brothers, Michael Strong (Penny), Hamilton, Ohio and Paul Strong (Michelle), Hillsboro, Ohio, four special sisters, Jackie Bentley (Ben), Hyden, KY., Dorothy Wagner, Hyden, KY., Opal Estep, Hyden, KY. and Nancy Hibbitts (Stanley), Hyden, KY., &  a host of treasured grandchildren & treasured great grandchildren. Also a host of treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Friday, June 16, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Minister: Scott Barger

*Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133*

Interment: Strong Family Cemetery, (Short Creek Road), Hyden, KY.

Pallbearers: Nicholas Adam Strong, Kurtis Vitek, Brent Sabino, Adam Grubbs, Trey Bingham and Paul David Bentley
