Helen R. Smith, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 83. Born on February 4, 1942, in Kentucky, Helen was a devoted stay-at-home mom who nurtured her family with unwavering love.
Known for her sassy personality, Helen was never one to hold back her thoughts. Her candid nature brought joy and laughter to those around her. One of her most cherished memories was the holiday season; Christmas held a special place in her heart, filled with warmth, family gatherings, and cherished traditions.
Helen found great joy in nurturing her surroundings as much as her family. She had a green thumb that flourished with her love for gardening, where planting flowers became an expression of her vibrant spirit. In addition to her gardening endeavors, Helen enjoyed canning food, sewing, and crafting beautiful quilts.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Fabian (Melissa) Smith, and her precious grandchildren: Meghan Smith-French, Harley Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Dakota Smith, and Tyler Smith. Helen's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Shaylie Seiber, Ahlexus Seiber, Keeghan French, Brandyn Lee Ray Snedigar, Rhyder Jaymes Smith, and Audree Cowgill, along with her great-great-grandson, Easton Sargent.
Helen is reunited in spirit with her husband, Terry Ray Smith, her parents, Jesse James Bowling and Lucy Bowling, and her son, Terry L. Smith, as well as her step-son, Doug.
Her vibrant presence, generous heart, and sassy spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. Helen R. Smith's life was a testament to love, family, and the beauty of simple joys. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
