Frances Wooton Boggs

Frances Boggs, 107, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Christian Health Center in Corbin, Kentucky. Born October 31, 1917, in Leslie County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Burley and Eva Wooton.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Boggs; three daughters: infant, Dinah Lovell Boggs, Rita Sexton, and Mary Godsey; and a grandson, Robert William Sexton.

She leaves behind her son, Roger Boggs and wife Shirley; daughter, Bonnie Harris and husband Larry; son, Harold Boggs and wife Lynn; daughter, Barbara Lankster and husband Jerry; son, Bill Boggs and wife Gail; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Frances was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed her family. She made sure that Sunday meals were prepared for them until she was 100 years old. Her family’s favorite foods were her soup beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, chicken and dumplings, and biscuits. She also made daily walking a routine until she was in her 90s. She enjoyed yard sales and had a special love for Christmas, buying gifts for everyone in the family.

Very much loved, Frances will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 30, 2025, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Kilburn officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Melton Cemetery (Ben Riley Curve) at Wooton, Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home

The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour on Monday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
