Farmer Hoskins passed away on February 20, 2024 at the age of 78 years old. He was born on December 6, 1945 in Leslie County, Kentucky to Charley and Nancy Roberts Hoskins. Farmer served honorably in the U.S. Army Veteran. He was retired from Cargill Syrup Company as a loader operator and was also employed as a roofer. Farmer enjoyed fishing, however his greatest joy came from spending time with family, especially his treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devoted member of the Stinnett Pentecostal Church for 50 years. Farmer is survived by his wife Patsy Jean Asher Hoskins of Somerset, KY whom he was united in marriage on June 15, 1968,. son James Edward Hoskins (and Becky Riddle) of Monticello,KY, daughter Teresa Rena and husband Shannon Nicholas of Somerset, KYand son by choice James Russell Mitchell of Alabama; 5 granddaughters:Jordan Persinger, Jessica Campbell (and Robert), Natasha Thomas (and Eric),
Amber Jones (and David), Alyssa Hayes (and Trevor), and 2 grandsons:Jordan and Hunter Nicholas; 3 great-granddaughters: Aubrey Casada-Rae Simmons, Reagan Grace Thomas, and Hazel Elizabeth Jones; 3 great-grandsons: Connor David Jones, Kannon George Thomas, and Wyatt Cecil Louis Campbell. Farmer is also survived by two brothers; Silas (and Sharon) Hoskins of Fairborn, OH and Paul (and Brenda) Hoskins of Stinnett, KY, 1 sister-in-law, Viola Sandlin and 2 brothers-in-law; John Bowling and Jack Carpenter.
Farmer is preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Nancy Hoskins; 5 brothers Homer, Cleamon, Vernon, Eldon, and Clarence Hoskins; 6 sisters; Pearlie Witt, Irene Collett, Carolyn Hacker, Evelyn Carpenter, Celdron Stone and Delora Bowling; 4 sisters-in-law: Nancy, Linda, Mary, and Rosetta, and 4 brothers-in-law: Lonnie Witt, Eugene Collett, Bob Stone and Carl Hacker.Farmer leaves behind to mourn his passing a host of nieces, nephews, and other family as well as friends including a special friend Danny Hale of London, KY.
Visitation for Farmer Hoskins will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 23 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church located at 2490 State HWY 406 Stinnett, KY with funeral services on Saturday, February 24 at 1 p.m. with Silas Hoskins and James Bowling, Jr officiating. Burial will be at the Glady Branch Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be observed by the Leslie Co. D.A.V. Chapter #133. Pallbearers are: Allen Rice, Jerry Rice, Josh Smith, Homer Hoskins Jr, Kelvin Brock, Zandal Hoskins, and Eric Thomas with honorary pallbearers Michael Hoskins, Danny Hale, Kannon Thomas, Wyatt and Robert Campbell and Connor and David Jones.
