Fannie Whitehead Roberts, a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Advent Hospital in Manchester, Kentucky. She was 87 years old. Born on August 19, 1938, in Chappell, Kentucky, she lived a life marked by hard work, love, and devotion.

Fannie devoted her career to being a housekeeper and employee at the Appalachian Motel in Hyden, Kentucky, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and dedicated service. Her commitment to her work was only matched by her deep involvement in her community, particularly as a faithful member of the Stinnett Church of Christ.

In her personal life, Fannie enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her great joy. She was passionate about sewing, gardening, and quilting, crafts that allowed her to express her creativity and share her talents with others. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family, nurturing bonds that would last a lifetime.

Fannie is survived by two sons, Doyle Roberts and Trevor Shotton, as well as two special grandsons who lovingly called her "Granny Fannie," Buddy Roberts and Jamie Roberts. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, along with two special families she held dear to her heart, Johnny Witt & Brenda and Bobby Boggs & Pauline.

Fannie will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. In her passing, she joins her beloved parents, John Whitehead and Amy Catherine Turner, and her siblings—four brothers, Adron, Taylor, Ralph, and Carson Whitehead, along with three sisters, Lucy Mosley, Margaret Bray, and Bardie Whitehead. Their memories will undoubtedly live on through the stories and love shared by her family and friends. Fannie's legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love, and she will be remembered fondly in the hearts of many.
