Everett Begley, a dedicated coal miner and heavy equipment operator, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, Kentucky. He was 98 years old. Born on November 1, 1927, in Perry County, Kentucky, Everett lived a life characterized by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep love for the outdoors.
Throughout his career, Everett was known for his unwavering commitment to his work in the coal industry and as a heavy equipment operator. His strong work ethic not only provided for his family but also served as an inspiration to those around him.
Everett cherished his time spent with loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is survived by his son, Arville Dwayne Feltner; son-in-law, Jack Hacker; granddaughter, Cindall Feltner Sizemore and her husband, Timmy; and two great granddaughters, Karley Sizemore and Jacquelyn Johnson. He also leaves behind a host of special nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Although Everett enjoyed many things in life, he particularly loved spending time outdoors, riding his 4-wheeler, and caring for his animals, which brought him immense joy. His life was enriched by the bonds he formed with family and friends, and he will be remembered for his warm spirit and kindness.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben Begley and Emma Stidham Begley; his beloved wife, Jean Begley; his daughter, Claretta; two grandsons, Jeff Hacker and Brian Hacker; one great grandson, Derek Scott , brothers, Norman Begley and Johnie Begley and sister, Vernie Begley Feltner. His legacy will live on through the memories cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Graveside Service: Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the Woods-Begley Cemetery, Hyden, KY., with Max Begley officiating.
