Evelyn Hacker, a beloved member of her community and church, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on November 1, 1949, in Warbranch, Kentucky and leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love that touched the lives of many.
Evelyn was known for her friendly, outgoing, and loving personality. A high school graduate, she embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in various hobbies and interests that included traveling, shopping, cooking, going to the lake, and spending cherished moments with her cousins.
Her professional journey as a legal secretary showcased her dedication and commitment, providing valuable support to those she worked with. Evelyn's impact extended beyond her career; she was a connecting force within her family and among her friends. Evelyn also enjoyed worshiping at Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church, and Roark Pentecostal Holiness Church alongside her friends and family down through the years.
Evelyn is survived by her devoted husband, James T.R. Hacker. She leaves behind her sons, Tim Hacker (Catherine), Mark Collett, and Travis Brad Hacker; and her daughters, April Nichelle Collett and Katrina Short (Tim). Family gatherings were a source of joy, and her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Nicholas Brock, Katie Brock, Bradley Collett, Hannah Robinson, Trey Short, Tyra Short, Keenan Hacker, Cullen Hacker, and Emma Hacker. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Sadie Hacker.
Preceding Evelyn in death were her beloved parents, Bradley and Thelma Collett Fee, and her brother, James Fee. Her memory will continue to be honored by her family and friends, who carry forward the lessons of love, kindness, and faith that she instilled in them.
Visitation will be held at Roark Pentecostal Holiness Church in Essie, Kentucky, on January 1, 2026 starting at 6pm. A funeral service will take place the following day, January 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM, also at Roark Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Evelyn Hacker's spirit, marked by her love and devotion to her family and the connections she nurtured, will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
