Evelyn Couch Cobb

Evelyn Cobb, a beloved soul who graced this world with her wisdom and kindness, has peacefully passed away at her residence in London, KY on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was 82 years old.  Born in Hyden, KY, on August 17, 1941, the daughter of the late, Doyle Couch and the late, Opha Couch. She spent her life dedicated to the noble profession of education for 28 years.  Evelyn's journey was marked by significant milestones, including achieving her Masters Rank I at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY .As a retired school teacher specializing in elementary grades, Evelyn touched the lives of many students with her passion for teaching having worked at Big Creek Elementary and also in the Dayton Public School System.  She found joy in tutoring children in reading, leaving an indelible mark on their academic journeys. Her commitment to education and nurturing young minds served as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Evelyn's proudest accomplishments were not only limited to her professional life but extended to her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. Family meant everything to her, and she found solace and happiness in supporting and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and other family members. Her love knew no bounds and enriched the lives of those around her. In this time of mourning, Evelyn is survived by her four devoted sons: Kevin Cobb (Connie) of London, KY; Rodney Cobb (Pamela) of Columbus, OH; Randall Cobb (Christy) of London, KY; and Bobby Cobb of Dayton, OH, 8 grandchildren, Sydney Smith, whom she chose to raise as her own & (Charlie),  Carrie Doolittle & (John), Ryan Cobb & (Makayla), Whitney Cobb, Lauren Cobb, John Robert "Jack" Cobb, Haiden Moses, Ella Moses and Amanda Cobb, 7 great grandchildren, Jaden Cobb, Oaklynn Smith, Cooper Smith, Olivia Doolittle, Sadie Doolittle, Harlan Cobb and Audrey Cobb 2 sisters, Belinda Bronson of Bear Branch, KY and Aileen Couch of Bear Branch, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents Doyle and Opha Couch, husband Robert Cobb, sisters Shelby Jean Farmer, Sharon Couch, Louise Roberts and brother Gerald Couch

A visitation will be held at the Couch's Fork Church of God in Bear Branch, KY on February 22 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and also on Friday, Feb. 23 beginning at 12:00 noon-2:00 P.M. 

Funeral service will take place Friday, Feb. 23, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church

Interment will follow at the Farmer Couch Family Cemetery at Bear Branch, KY.
