Elmer Madden

Mr. Elmer Madden of Hyden passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center at the age of 89. Elmer was born April 20, 1930 in Leslie Co., KY., the son of the late, Leo Madden & Jennie Hendrix Madden. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation Elmer had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator in strip mining. He enjoyed music, playing guitar & singing & especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Wanda Joseph, grandson, Jonathan Joseph, six siblings, Wilmer, John, Christine, Lorene, Ilene & Opal & step-son, Larry Lyons. He is survived by his  loving & devoted wife, Helen Madden of Hyden, KY., one beloved son, James Madden & wife, Bea of Hazard, KY., one step-daughter, Renee Muncy & husband, Mack of Hyden, KY., one sister, Evelyn York, six treasured grandchildren, Jamie Porter & husband, Derrick, Daniel Madden & wife, June, Kristen Hurt & husband, Lonnie & Michael Joseph, step-grandson, Josh Lyons, step-granddaughter, Robin Muncy, a host of treasured great grandchildren & a special friend, Ronnie Gay. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Saturday, May 18, 2019 @ 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Daniel Madden & Donnie Browning

Interment: W.M. Roberts Family Cemetery (Owl's Nest Road), Hyden, KY.
